At SPARK Academy of STEM, Innovation, & Career Readiness, we believe every student deserves access to high-quality educational opportunities, caring mentors, and pathways to lifelong success. Through partnerships with schools, colleges, businesses, community organizations, and volunteers, we provide comprehensive programs that strengthen academic achievement, STEM education, workforce readiness, leadership development, and family engagement.

Our services are designed to support students from elementary school through college while empowering families with the resources needed to build stronger communities.

After-School Academic Enrichment

Our flagship After-School Academic Enrichment Program provides students with a safe, structured learning environment where they receive individualized academic support and opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills.

Students receive tutoring, homework assistance, reading and mathematics intervention, writing support, study skills, literacy development, test preparation, academic mentoring, and progress monitoring. Trained volunteers, college students, educators, and community professionals work together to help students improve academically while encouraging positive habits and personal growth.

In-School Academic Support

SPARK partners directly with schools to provide instructional support during the school day. College students and trained volunteers work alongside teachers by assisting with classroom instruction, small-group learning, reading and math intervention, mentoring, STEM demonstrations, attendance encouragement, and classroom engagement.

This partnership allows schools to provide additional individualized attention to students while strengthening the overall learning environment.

STEM Education & Innovation

Our STEM Education & Innovation Program introduces students to exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

Students participate in robotics, coding, engineering challenges, artificial intelligence awareness, computer science, environmental science, technology exploration, design thinking, innovation labs, and career exploration activities. Throughout the year, students interact with engineers, healthcare professionals, university faculty, scientists, and business leaders who inspire them to pursue careers in high-demand industries.

Workforce Development & Career Readiness

Preparing students for future careers is one of SPARK's highest priorities. Our Workforce Development & Career Readiness Program equips students with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to succeed in today's workforce.

Services include career exploration, resume writing, interview preparation, financial literacy, workplace communication, leadership development, professional etiquette, apprenticeship awareness, internship preparation, workforce certifications, and college and career planning.

Students are introduced to careers in healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, skilled trades, information technology, construction, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, public safety, government, energy, and industrial operations.

College & Career Success

SPARK works closely with high school seniors and college students to ensure a successful transition into higher education and meaningful careers.

Students receive assistance with college planning, scholarship opportunities, FAFSA completion, college applications, internship connections, professional networking, career mentoring, graduate school exploration, and leadership development. These services help students successfully navigate college while preparing for long-term career success.

Collegiate Resource Support

Many college students face financial and personal challenges that can impact their academic success. SPARK helps connect students with valuable community resources and professional opportunities.

Support includes scholarship referrals, internships, leadership development, volunteer opportunities, networking, career mentoring, professional development workshops, graduate school information, and referrals for food and professional clothing resources.

Leadership Development

Developing future leaders is central to our mission. Students participate in leadership training that strengthens communication, teamwork, ethical decision-making, public speaking, conflict resolution, event planning, volunteer management, and community engagement.

Students also have opportunities to serve within the SPARK Collegiate Leadership Network, where they gain practical leadership experience while serving schools and communities.

Student Mentoring

Positive relationships have the power to transform lives. Our mentoring program pairs students with caring adults, college students, educators, and professionals who provide encouragement, accountability, and guidance.

Mentors help students strengthen academic motivation, develop leadership skills, improve decision-making, build confidence, explore career opportunities, prepare for college, and develop lifelong personal responsibility.

Scholarships & Student Recognition

SPARK celebrates student achievement by recognizing excellence in academics, leadership, volunteerism, and community service.

As funding becomes available, scholarships and educational stipends are awarded to deserving students who demonstrate consistent participation, academic commitment, leadership, and service. Additional recognition includes academic excellence awards, leadership honors, volunteer recognition, senior recognition, and collegiate leadership awards.

Family Engagement

Strong families build successful students. SPARK partners with parents and caregivers by providing educational resources, workshops, and family engagement opportunities throughout the year.

Topics include educational advocacy, financial literacy, college planning, positive parenting, student success strategies, community resources, and school partnerships that strengthen family involvement in education.

SPARK serves families beyond the classroom by connecting them with valuable community resources and support services.

Programs may include school supply assistance, educational workshops, community partnerships, holiday initiatives, youth engagement activities, health awareness events, volunteer opportunities, and referrals to organizations that provide additional family support.

Summer STEM & Career Academy

Each summer, SPARK offers a dynamic educational experience that combines academics, STEM exploration, workforce development, leadership training, and career readiness.

Students participate in STEM projects, college visits, industry tours, leadership workshops, academic enrichment, service projects, career presentations, and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for future educational and career opportunities.

School Partnerships

SPARK collaborates with public schools, colleges, universities, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and private industry to expand educational opportunities for students.

Partnership services include after-school tutoring, in-school academic support, STEM Days, Career Days, guest speakers, teacher appreciation initiatives, college readiness workshops, volunteer coordination, educational resource fairs, and community engagement events.

Volunteer & Service Learning

Volunteers are essential to our mission. SPARK welcomes college students, retired educators, professionals, civic organizations, faith-based organizations, business partners, and community leaders who are committed to making a difference.

Volunteer opportunities include tutoring, mentoring, STEM instruction, career presentations, administrative support, event assistance, community outreach, student engagement, and family programs. Students participating through university partnerships may also earn approved service-learning hours while serving the community.
